Fraud Prevention Guidelines
Dear customer, your peace-of-mind is important to us. We want you to know that, with us,
staying in control of your finances is easy. Just follow these steps to safeguard your
finances from fraudulent activity.
Password/Pin Protection Guidelines
- Change your IB (Internet Banking) password regularly.
- Do not use common passwords for multiple applications.
- Make sure your password is at least 8 characters long and contains both upper and
lower case letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Make sure your password does not contain your name or any personally identifying
information.
- Change your Debit/Credit card PIN regularly.
- Do not use the same PIN for multiple cards.
- Protect your Password and PIN from unauthorized access.
Account Monitoring
Keep an eye on your account activity by regularly checking the:
- Account balance
- Account statement
- Transaction history
- SMS alerts and email advices sent by the bank
Vigilance
- Never share the Internet banking password, Credit/Debit card PIN, CVV, and OTP (One
Time Password) with anyone, including the bank.
- Never share personal/confidential account information over the phone.
- Stay alert to E-mail fraud. Never share personal/confidential account information
over email and never click on any suspicious links.
- Did you receive a message saying you have won a lottery? This could be a scam to
steal your money.
- Be alert while transacting at ATMs, cover the PIN pad, avoid help from strangers,
and look for unusual parts.
- No network on your phone? Check with your service provider, you could be a victim of
Sim Swap Fraud.
- Never issue a blank cheque; use your own pen to fill in information. Stay alert to
Magic Ink Fraud.
- Beware of emails stating a change of account details. Confirm before you transfer
funds to a new account.
- Protect your phone and social media accounts from data theft and don’t download
unknown apps. It could be used for financial fraud.
- Call your clients before transferring funds to a new account.
- Your bank will never ask for your Password/OTP/PIN over a call or SMS. Stay alert &
secure your account.
Extra Tips
- Contact our 24x7 contact center at 800-5425454 for any support,
reports, or suspicious activity.
- Report if you do not receive the transactional SMS and/or email timely.
- Report lost/stolen items immediately, whether it is a credit/debit card or a
cheque/chequebook.
- Make sure to have antivirus installed and updated on the system where you access
Internet Banking.
- Be cautious with phishing emails. Do not open email attachments from unknown
sources.
- Protect your debit and credit cards physically by not leaving your purse or wallet
unattended.

Alerts to customers are delivered for account activities such as:
- For ATM withdrawals, Point of Sale transactions, and eCommerce transactions, SMS
alerts are sent to the customer’s registered mobile number.
- For any account transfer, email advices and SMS alerts are sent to the customer’s
registered mobile number and email address.
